THE 3RD EDITION OF OBA KABIR SHOTOBI MINI-MARATHON IS SET TO HOLD IN OCTOBER 1ST. | Shakiru Seidu. Winners would be handsomely rewarded with Trophies, Cash and Certificate of Participation. -Odufowokan.

The 3rd edition of the Oba Kabir Shotobi Mini Marathon sponsored by the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. S.O.B. Agunbiade is set to hold on the 1st of October, 2017, to celebrate the National Independence Day in Ikorodu Division.

The Marathon which is covering a distance of 6km is an Annual Event aimed at:

1. Discovering and developing future champions to represent Lagos State and Nigeria in national and international long distance Race Competition.

2. Contributing to the development of Sports in lagos State and Nigeria.

3. To create a healthy rivalry between Private and Public Secondary Schools in Ikorodu Division.

4. To domicile the National Independence Day celebration in Ikorodu division.

At the Press briefing today, Monday, 25th of September, 2017, in the Constituency Office of Hon. Agunbiade, the anchor man, Otunba Dare Odufowokan was eloquent, while Hon. Azeez Olosugbo, the Coordinator of Onward Movement was highly inspiring in explaining the procedures. 

The Screening for Participants was said to commence on 26th, September 2017 as well as the Screening for the Medical Fitness of Participants by medical Officers of Lagos State Sports Commission and medical Personnel of Ikorodu General Hospital.

Names of qualified Athletes will be published on Friday, 29th of September, 2017. Cash prizes and other Consolation Prizes will be Awarded to the participating Students and Schools across Ikorodu Division. All these were red in the speech presented by Mr Akeem Bello.

However, before unveiling the T-shirt for the Marathon, the Representative of Justrite at Ogolonto, appreciated the initiator of this Marathon Race, Hon. SOB Agunbiade, for his assiduous contribution in moving Ikorodu division forward and Lagos State at large.

After justice was done to the question of Mr Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Magazine and another person from Vanguard Newspaper by Mr Akeem Bello, it was made known to the public that the Palace of Oba Kabir Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu will be the starting point for the Marathon, scheduled to hold on Sunday, 1st of October, 2017, by 7:00am prompt.
