LAGOS LAWMAKER, HON. AMA EMPOWERS CONSTITUENTS WITH POS MACHINES, TAKE-OFF GRANT IN IKORODU CONSTITUENCY II. ...As Party Leaders, Others Applaud Gesture.


A member of the Lagos 10th Assembly, representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, popularly called AMA, has presented Point of Sale (POS) Machines with a take-off grant to over 300 Constituents, as part of the empowerment programs of AMA Smile Foundation.

Speaking at the event on Friday at Golden Event Centre, Oke-Eletu, Ijede, Lagos, the erudite lawmaker said the programme is organized for the less privileged households across the three local councils of Ikorodu Constituency II, was aimed at giving back to his people.

The Lawmaker revealed that the scheme was outside his usual assistance to his constituents, added that his stewardship since 2023 had changed narrative and ensure that his constituency takes her rightful state.

"180 unemployed residents were empowered with fully activated POS machines with registered CAC business names. A total of ₦100,000 each, ₦50,000 preloaded on their machines and ₦50,000 in cash. Most of these beneficiaries had no identifiable source of income,” the Lawmaker explained.

“Today, they are not just empowered, they are now recognized entrepreneurs, and this is how we begin to break the cycle of poverty. In addition, 150 existing POS operators and small business owners received ₦100,000 cash grants each to expand and upgrade their businesses, an effort aimed at strengthening active enterprises within the constituency," AMA added.

The Lawmaker also said that he had taken care of the needs of his people in other such areas as education, road projects, sports, and health, adding that his legislative performance had yielded dividends among his people in two years of office.

Commending the gesture of Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro, the for SSG Lagos State and member, Governance Advisory Council GAC, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Member, Lagos 4th and 5th Assemblies, Hon. Saheed Hassan Adefarasin, SA to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, among others leaders said the Lawmaker has truly uplift the economic conditions of Ikorodu Constituency II.
