IKORODU NORTH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, BUILDER ADEOLA ADEBISI BANJO COMMISSIONS PROJECTS TO MARK LAST DAY IN OFFICE. | Shakiru Seidu.
In a momentous celebration of leadership, resilience, and fulfilled promises, the people of Ikorodu North LCDA gathered on Friday, July 25, 2025, to witness the official commissioning of the Odogunyan-Idera Bridge/Agbede Olosugbo Road - a transformational project that has turned a once-dusty pathway into a fully interlocked, well-drained, and brightly lit symbol of progress.
Though unavoidably absent, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Adéọlá Adebisi Banjọ, was ably represented at the event by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman for Ikorodu North LCDA and Ikorodu Division, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, who performed the official commissioning on his behalf. The ceremony began with opening remarks from the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Olawale Ibrahim Apanishile, who is also the incoming Chairman. He lauded the administration of Builder Banjọ for completing the project with such a high standard of excellence, describing it as a legacy that would stand the test of time.
Also present were key members of the council’s administration, including the Council Manager, Council Treasurer, Supervisory Councillors, and executive team led by Prince Niyi Odugbesi, the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG). The legislative arm was well represented by the Leader of the House, Hon. Ayo Adekoya, along with other councillors. The presence of royal fathers from the host communities - the Baales of Olosugbo, Agbede Olorogbo, Ebuwawa, and Ojuemuren - as well as members of the Joint CDA underlined the communal importance of the event.
The newly commissioned road, which features interlocking paving stones, double-side drainage channels, and solar-powered streetlights, is more than just an infrastructural upgrade. It is, in the words of the Chairman, "a path of progress, a symbol of resilience, and a signature of excellence by our administration." This landmark project, connecting Agbede, Odogunyan, and Olosugbo communities, has already begun to impact local mobility, reduce flood risk, improve security, and enhance the quality of life for residents.
Builder Banjọ, in a heartfelt message released shortly after the commissioning, described the project as a fulfillment of one of the core promises of his administration. “Today, history was written in gold in Ikorodu North LCDA,” he declared. “Though I was unavoidably absent, I am overjoyed to know that this once-dusty dream has now come alive - a promise fulfilled, a legacy sealed.”
He further remarked that the project holds special significance as the final project to be commissioned under his administration. “I am deeply humbled by the kind words, accolades, and prayers showered on our administration. Truly, we came, we served, and we’re finishing strong!” he said, expressing gratitude to the people of Agbede, Odogunyan, and Olosugbo for their patience, support, and belief in governance.
Builder Banjọ called on the host communities to take ownership of the road, protect it, and ensure it is preserved to serve generations to come. “This road is yours - protect it, own it, and let it serve generations,” he urged.
As his administration draws to a close, the Odogunyan-Idera Bridge/Agbede Olosugbo Road stands as a testament to Builder Adéọlá Adebisi Banjọ’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural development and people-focused leadership. With every interlocked stone laid, every streetlight lit, and every drop of floodwater drained, this project immortalizes an era defined by action, accountability, and legacy.
Indeed, from vision to reality, this road is not just a route - it is a milestone that will forever echo the strength and service of the Banjọ-led administration.
