All roads were led to the ancient town of Igbogbo Kingdom, on Monday, October 6, 2025, as the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, received the Iyalaje of Igbogbo Kingdom, Iyaloja General of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Chief Mrs Ashake Adenike Wahab, members of the Adeboruwa-in-Council, the traditionalist, Council Chairman and Councillors, amongst other Indigenes of Igbogbo Kingdom, as they celebrate this year's 'Aje Oloja' festival.
It was indeed a unique celebration as everyone were in white dress, which symbolises purity, love and unity. The procession started from the boundary at Igbe junction, down to the Aafin Adeboruwa, where Aje Shrine, known as ‘Ule Aje’, was built.
At the Palace, the Monarch and the Iyaloja General of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, prayed for the economic and commercial prosperity of Igbogbo Kingdom, the residents, Sons and Daughters of Igbogbo worldwide.
This year's edition of 'Aje Oloja' in Igbogbo was expanded and witnessed the presence of numerous indigenes, market men and women, tourists, local government officials, and business experts, who came to celebrate with the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.
As one of the deities in Yorubaland, Aje is a deity in charge of wealth and economic prosperity with great positive influence on the world’s economy. The deity of Aje is in charge of wealth, commerce and economy just like Ogun is in charge of iron and O̩s̩un is in charge of waters. The festival was said to be holding annually.
