IGBOGBO KINGDOM REJOICES, AS JINX OF 17 YEARS WITHOUT BANK IS BROKEN. | Shakiru Seidu. Eschew all forms of bitterness to avert mistakes of the past. -Basorun. I am optimistic that this development will enhance cash flow and rapid economic growth in Igbogbo Kingdom. -Akinsola.

The prestigious UBA financial institution has finally unveiled an ATM/Cash Centre Gallery in Igbogbo Community within the Council Secretariat, on Friday, 22nd of September, 2017.

The official unveiling of the Centre kick-started as the Council Legislative Leader, Councillor Nurudeen Alimi gave an opening prayer before the Branch Manager, Mr Adegoke Demola gave the opening remarks. While welcoming all to the august occasion. The manager assured the people of Igbogbo that the level of patronage of the Centre will necessitate the establishment of the full Bank within Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. He appreciated the efforts of HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Comrade Olusesan Daini and other concerned members of the Community. 

The NULGE Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Mr Kazeem Ogunmuyiwa made the official introduction of the dignitaries and the Senior Citizens who were present at the historical occasion.

The Regional Manager (UBA), Mrs Shodipo Pamella applauded all while affirming their determination and optimism to expand their Banking business in Igbogbo Community. She equally assured of total compliance as conspicuously spelt out in the MOU. 

However, a political figure and an entrepreneur from Igbogbo, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun was elated about the development. He said, "Economy cannot survive without financial Institution." He further narrated his role on how he was accessory to the establishment of the defunct Savannah Bank, before the Bank liquidated in year 2000.

Basorun cited an instance of his experience as a Banker, having been in banking sector since 1959 when the CBN commenced full operation. He assured that the UBA will serve neighboring communities. "The biggest Police Station is located along Igbogbo road, therefore, insecurity cannot be a threat." Basorun gladly remarks. He further congratulated the Kabiyesi and Comrade Olusesan Daini, while urging others to eschew all forms of bitterness to avert the repeat of the mistakes of the past. He acquainted the large crowd gathered that Sterling Bank and EcoBank are aiming to be established within the Community. 

Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, the former deputy Governor, applauded the establishment of the Bank. He was very optimistic that it will yield positive effect on the economy of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. In the same vein, the former HOS, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, was glad and over joyous about the Bank and urged everyone on constant patronage. Another political figure, Chief Adenrele Olowu also threw his weight behind UBA as a good step in the right direction. 

The Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Comrade Olusesan Daini in his eloquent speech felt fulfilled about the Bank's presence in the Community. He thanked everyone because 17years of shackles of a community without a Bank was broken on a day he clocked 2months in Office. 

He therefore charged the Bank on efficiency and effectiveness by not starving the ATM with Cash needed by the people. Daini equally congratulated Kabiyesi owing to the fact that his reign is opening doors for potentials in Igbogbo Community. 

However, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali applauded the supports of everyone, while urging the MD of UBA, Mr Elumelu to extend developmental projects towards Igbogbo Community. He therefore enjoined everyone to give their maximum supports to the Bank for quality service delivery. 

When Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Magazine spoke with the Special Adviser and Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Lagos State, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, who was ably represented, she expressed her joy and enthusiasm towards the development at this time in Igbogbo. "I am optimistic that this development will enhance cash flow and rapid economic growth in Igbogbo Kingdom." Hon. Akinsola assured.

Others were Adeboruwa-in-Council led by High Chief Tajudeen Onasanya, Chief Jelili Oduntan, Vice Chairman Titilola Adegboyega, the five Council Legislative, led by Councillor Nurudeen Alimi, Princess Kofoworola Adeboye, Members of A+ Disciples, APC faithful, CDAs, among others.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland.
