AMBODE UNVEILS ASA AROKOLO, A STATUE OF UNIFICATION IN IKORODU DIVISION. | Shakiru Seidu. We must not jeopardize the philosophy that binds us together in Ikorodu division, Hon. Akinsola insisted.
Saturday, 4th of November, 2017, was a day that will not be easily forgotten by the people of Ikorodu Division when Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode unveiled the ASA Statue, in Ogolonto, Ikorodu, saying that the State was in sync with the resuscitation of cultural heritage in Ikorodu Division.
Governor Ambode, who spoke at the unveiling of the statue through the Special Adviser and Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Lagos State, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, said the ASA Arokolo will serve as unifying factor in Ikorodu division.
He therefore congratulated the initiator, Hon SOB Agunbiade for putting his name in the book of history. Ambode however urged the Royal Heads to remain in unity in Ikorodu division.
Hon Adebimpe Akinsola did not hesitate to unveil the purpose of her support on ASA which was bothered on the unity within Ikorodu Division, the neglect of our beautiful cultural heritage and the philosophy that binds Ikorodu together. The articulate Commissioner assured the Royal fathers that celebration of ASA has been adopted by the Lagos State government.
The Statue was unveiled by Governor Ambode who was ably represented by Hon Akinsola immediately after the Ranodu of Imota, HRM Oba Ajibade Agoro prayed for Ambode, Hon. Akinsola and Hon Agunbiade.
Among those that present at the historic unveiling were Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode, ably represented by Hon Adebimpe Akinsola, the initiator, Hon SOB Agunbiade, His Royal Majesties, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Ajibade Agoro, Ranodu of Imota, Oba Semiudeen Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo and Oba Richard Ogunsanya, Olubeshe of Ibeshe.
Others were Otunba (Sir) Ayodele Elesho, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Chief Sulaimon Ogidi, members of IREP, IKODASS, A+ Disciples and well wishers.
