IGBOGBO STANDS STILL AS THE COMMUNITY HOLDS A HISTORIC CARNIVAL IN CELEBRATION OF IGBOGBO DAY. | Shakiru Seidu.

On Saturday 18th of November 2017, all economic activities were grounded in Igbogbo community as all sons and daughters of Igbogbo, artisans, traders, transport operators and a host of other residents trooped out in large number to observe the one of its kind Carnival ever in the history of Igbogbo. "In fact, this has never happened before", revealed by one of the residents while chatting up with MegaXpression Magazine.

The atmosphere was filled with different kinds of native attires, selected by different groups, Streets and age grade groups were not left out. The occasion was more of a competition as people rallied round the community to celebrate this year's Igbogbo Day.

In a final performance at the Adeboruwa's Palace, winners emerged based on merit through the judgement of unbiased panelist. Agarawu base, Itun Abosan ward and Grinding Matching Operators took 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

GOV. BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU TO COMMISSION AN IMPRESSIVE AAFIN ADEBORUWA OF IGBOGBO KINGDOM ON SUNDAY. | Shakiru Seidu.

The Governor of Lagos, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is to commission a newly reconstructed Aafin Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom , by the Administration of the outgoing Chairman, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini. His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom. This event is part of a broader effort by the Daini's administration to improve the governance structure at the local level and provide for the traditional rulers.
