THE 26TH IKORODU OGA DAY ENDS IN GRAND STYLE AS EMINENT PERSONALITIES GLAMOURED THE EVENT. | Shakiru Seidu. Oba Shotobi, others, endorses Ambode for second term. Hon. The annual Ikorodu Oga Day Celebration of this year ended in a grand style on Saturday 18th of November 2017. Series of sociocultural events had taken place before the grand finale that turned the events to the talk of the town.

The Chairman of IKODAS, Otunba Ganiu Olusegun Abiru said, 'We have succeeded in repackaging and rebranding the most popular sociocultural event in Ikorodu which others will continue to build upon'. He promised to leave no stone unturned.

The occasion was characterized by various demonstration and presentations that arrested the attention of the guests. Prominent personalities within and outside Ikorodu Division were not left out of the life long experience which binds the people of Ikorodu Division together.

However, HRM Oba Kabiru Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu endorsed Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for second term bid due to his commitment towards his consideration of Ikorodu in his developmental plan. He thanked his fellow IKODAS Exco for a job well done and its synergy to deliver as promised.

Moreover, the occasion was witnessed by the largesse and kind heart of Otunba (Dr.) Anifowose Steve Adewale who donated a Hilux bus to the community for the purpose of security patrol.

In the same vein, Gov. Ambode who was ably represented by the Commissioner for local government and community affairs, Hon. Mushin Olohuntele Folami eloquently delivered the Governor's goodwill remarks. He further added that Gov. Ambode has performed magnificently within two years. He therefore urged the people to compensate the action Governor Ambode by voting him into office the second term.

Due to the Governor's tenacity and determination for success and qualitative works, he oftentimes visits project sites overnight to be certain if the contractors are indeed working, Commissioner Folami explained.

Another side attraction was the presentation of awards to prominent personalities who have worked assiduously to advance the course of growth and development in all facet of life in Ikorodu Division, the Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly and the Opomulero of Ikorodu, Hon. SOB Agunbiade was presented with the '2017 Merit Award,' this is often conferred annually on most outstanding indigene of the Division. Others who were awarded are: HRM Oba Gbadamoshi, Ologijo of Ogijo, Otunba Anifowose (the philanthropist) and others....

The event was massively glamoured with music to get the guests entertained and gare them a relax atmosphere.

Hon. Akinsola seized the opportunity to speak for Gov. Ambode's re election bid as the only way to appreciate him is to vote him in the second term.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
