Saturday, 11th of November, 2017, the Ikorodu township witnessed a large turnout in celebration of the 26th Ikorodu Oga Day festival. Sons and daughters gathered at Ikorodu Town Hall earlier in the morning to kick start the celebration via Wooro Carnival which took round the community and also to promote the cultural heritage of the kingdom.
Different groups participated in the Wooro Carnival, among which were the Osugbo, Awo-Opa, Igunnuko, Koori, ASA, Orusen, and many more.
When speaking with MegaXpression Magazine, the IKODAS Chairman, Otunba Olusegun Abiru, acquainted the indigenes of Ikorodu to remain resolute, take the advantage of the festival to promote our cultural value and not to relent towards the agitation for development of community. He further enjoined all to embrace peaceful coexistence.
The Wooro Carnival ended at Ayangburen Palace where different cultural display were used to entertained the Kabiyesi, HRM Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, Ayangburen of Ikorodu, and his Chiefs.
