EXCITEMENT AS ADEBORUWA OF IGBOGBO INSTALLS FIRST BAALE OF SELEWU OREMALA COMMUNITY. | Shakiru Seidu.

There was a huge crowd on Thursday, April 5, 2018, as people from all walks of life converged at the Palace of Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, in Igbogbo, Lagos State, for the installation of Chief Olusola Adeleke Olugbode, as the first Baale of Selewu Oremala community, Igbogbo.

MegaXpression can also report that, there was massive turn out of the families, indigenes, friends, business associates and other sons and daughters of Selewu Oremala, as Kabiyesi and his Chiefs performed the necessary rites at the Palace before the big party at their family House in Selewu.

After being installed, the new Baale, Chief Olusola Olugbode, said: “I see the position as a privilege to add value to my people and that is the reason why my family members, home and abroad were happy to nominate me as their Baale, because they see me as worthwhile to fill the position." He therefore thanked the Adeboruwa and Adeboruwa-in-Council for considering him for the exulted position.

When giving loan of advise to the new Baale, High Chief Tajudeen Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo and Chief Lanre Obayomi, Otunba of Igbogbo, they urged him to use the new office to improve on development of Selewu Oremala, and more so, to protect and defend the image and integrity of Adeboruwa and Igbogbo community at large.

In his eloquent remarks, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali congratulated the families on the choice of the Baale as their representative at the Palace. He admonished the new Baale to be loyal, submissive, supportive and act on interest of his family members and Igbogbo Community.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo
