FATAI OLUKOGA BAGS NATIONAL OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AWARD. | Shakiru Seidu. "His records explain why we celebrate him", Comrade Obasi, NANS President, revealed.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), an umbrella body for over 40million students in all academic institutions across Nigeria, was on Wednesday, 11th of April, 2018, honored the former Special Adviser to the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola on Education, Otunba (Dr.) Fatai Olajide Olukoga, with the National Outstanding Leadership Award.

While speaking with MegaXpression Magazine, the NANS President, Comrade Chinonso Obasi said Otunba Olukoga has shown them through his unprecedented achievements that some leaders can still be trusted if given a chance. "His records explained why we are here to celebrate focus, determination, doggedness, and resilience. Olukoga's resolute and uncompromising approach in making sure that the youths get their rightful place is well commendable. These uncommon achievements remain a source of encouragement to the younger generation and this heroic act cannot go unnoticed," Comrade Obasi remarked.

Otunba Fatai Olukoga, born 67years ago, had his first and Master Degrees at Governor's State University, Park Forest, South Illinois, USA, in Social Cultural Process and Marketing and Industrial Relations respectively.

He worked briefly in USA before joining ITT in Nigeria in 1977. Otunba Olukoga joined Lagos State Civil Service in 1979 from where he rose to become a Permanent Secretary in 2005 and was compulsorily retired in 2007, he was appointed member of Lagos State Electoral Review Committee and in June 2011, was appointed Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, where he served meritoriously till 2015.

In his eloquent response, Otunba Fatai Olukoga thanked the organisers and assured of continuous quality service delivery. He said his commitment has been to promote, defend and advance the best interest of the people and contribute to the progress of Lagos State. “I am very honoured to receive this award because it represents the very ideals that sustains my interest in public service," he said.

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
