This came to reality at the Mushin Local Government Hall, on Monday, 9th of April, 2018.
The President of the Association, Prince Tajudeen Olusesi, Olumale of Odo-Nla community, Ikorodu, noted, while addressing the Press that, having watched closely the impressive performance of the governor, they deemed it fit to honour him with a second term in office. He pointed out to the presence of the governor in virtually all part of the State.
Prince Olusesi commended the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for giving Lagos such a great gift in the person of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, noting that his impact is felt in all nooks and crannies of the state by all and sundry.
He, however, urged members of Association of Traditional Midwifery of Nigeria, residing throughout Lagos State, to keep their permanent voters cards to actualize the vision of a second term for Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in 2019. He also advised members who have not procured their PVC to do so in the spirit of continuity and good governance.
Prince Olusesi also used the advantage of the Press briefing, which coincided with their monthly meeting, to plead for support and assistant from the State Government to the Association. He affirmed that the Traditional Midwifery is now acknowledged as a long neglected corner stone of an integrated health care system without which the realisation of health provision in the millennium development goals will be mirage.
"Reduction of child mortality, improving maternal health and combating HIV/AIDS, malaria, malnutrition are all linked to how far we are able to harness the hidden potentials of our traditional midwifery," Prince Tajudeen Olusesi explained.
