October 16th, 2017, another World Food Day celebrated all over the world. It is a day set aside to raise awareness of poverty and hunger in our society since 1945.

Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member House of Reps, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency, today, 16th of October, 2017, at his Constituency Office, Igbogbo, catered for total number of 500 people, consisting of Elderly, Widows, Needy and The Vulnerable ones in his Constituency by giving them food. This was in celebration of its 1st anniversary of the programme.

The programme which is the first in the history of Nigeria started with prayer from religious leaders, christian and Muslim respectively.

In his welcome address, Mayor Deen Sanwoola expressed joy and satisfaction to the iCARE Team for their roles in going this far despite the economic hardship in Nigeria. He made it known that the iCARE FOODBANK is not government sponsoring programme but was being powered by Hon Babajimi Benson and his amiable wife. He also announced the 30 minutes monthly programme to educate people on food management.

In his eloquent address, Hon Babajimi Benson welcomed everyone to the gathering, especially the beneficiaries who are more important to him. He said he had fulfilled the promises in his manifesto during his campaign in just two and half years in office.

iCARE FOODBANK wasn't my initiative but that of my wife and in celebration of World Food Day, JB explained when speaking with MegaXpression Magazine.

He therefore made it known that the numbers of the beneficiaries have been increased from 300 to 500 monthly. He further thanked everyone for placing their trust in him especially the iCARE Team for their voluntary and selfless service.

Among the Dignitaries present, APC Chairman from Ijede, Pastor Folorunso Falohun described the host as a humble and cool headed person; he said no one in the House of Representatives has performed as much as he had done.
Alhaji Gafar also commended JB's effort especially on iCARE FOODBANK and enjoined him to keep up the good work.

Another APC Chieftain, Chief Golden J. from Ijede revealed absolute satisfaction on Hon JB and enjoined him not to relent. In the same vein, the Chairman Ikorodu LG, Hon Wasiu Adeshina appreciated Hon Babajimi Benson for his accountability and innovations. JB has tremendously raises hope of people and this made him as a very good man and an articulate ambassador of Ikorodu, Adeshina added.

Mr Aregbe who spoke on behalf of other Wards Chairmen Ikorodu division, said all the Wards Chairmen can attest to the good work of Hon Babajimi Benson and based on this, they appreciate his good gesture.

Alhaji Badru Enifeni, am APC leader in his comment said Hon. Babajimi Benson is unlike any other leader in the federal House of Representatives, because despite the challenges JB faced while campaigning, he had proven that he is credible choice in Ikorodu division. He appreciates the good initiative of iCARE Foundation and appladed the fact that the benefactors are not party members but those who are in need of food.

The programme was brought to a close through the distribution of food to 500 beneficiaries. The occasion was graced with the presence of notable people in Ikorodu Division. The likes of Ashipa Kaoli Olusanya, Chief Dele Olowu, Chief Yeye Fausat Gbadebo, Chief Golden Jay, Otunba Ganiu Abiru, Prince Lanre Sanusi, PLS, Hon Gbenga Oshin, the 6 Council Chairmen with their Vice, Religious leaders, CDCs, the 6 APC LGAs Chairmen, Wards Chairmen, Councillors, women leaders, Youths leaders and other Party faithful were all in attendance.

Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
