IKORODU DIVISION CHEIFTANCY COMMITTEE REACHES OUT TO RESUSCITATE ITS CULTURAL HERITAGE, SET TO CELEBRATE ASA AROKOLO. | Shakiru Seidu. ...Visits Comrade Olusesan Daini. We must resuscitate our cultural heritage in Ikorodu Division. -Akinsola.
The dynamism of culture has oftentimes dignified the race of man all over the world. Culture everywhere is a bond that binds people of different ideology together.
This of course could be ascribed to what inspires the Special Adviser and Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Mrs Akinsola Adebimpe who deemed it sacrosanct to reposition Ikorodu Division via its rich cultural heritage.
On Wednesday 18th of October, 2017, the Ikorodu Division Chieftaincy Committee harmonized and embarked on the tour round the Division in a bid to research into their cultural heritage that are almost going into extinction.
They ensured they visited key areas in the whole of Ikorodu Division, unveiling valuable cultural heritage that once united the people and forming indivisible people. They visited the ancient Yewa River in Igbogbo with the hope of reviving the usual celebration accorded to the River.
Perhaps, one could conclude that this is happening at the right time. Soon, Hon. SOB Agunbiade, the Majority leader LSHA will unveil Asa Arokolo in a bid to resuscitate one of the rich cultural heritage in Ikorodu Division.
Hon. Akinsola has thrown her weight behind the team of progressive Royal Heads, traditional Chiefs and their anticipatory of harmonious cordiality among the people of the division.
When speaking with Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Magazine, Hon. Akinsola affirmed that Ikorodu Division is far behind the other Divisions in Lagos State.
She said, Eyo is yearly celebrated in Lagos Island, Sangbeto at Badagry and a host of others which have equally become tourist attraction from all over the world during celebration. She therefore enjoined the IREP Team to be determined and undeterred in their quest on ASA Arokolo.
The Cheiftancy committee promised to arrive at a logical conclusion in resuscitating those cultural values and heritage that can be preserved for the posterity.
The Committee later gave an unscheduled visit to the Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Comrade Olusesan Daini and sued for his support in the process.
Immediately after the Chairman assured of his total support, the Chiefs prayed for his success in his administration.
