There is no doubt that the urgly state of Ikorodu/Odogunyan road is giving all the representatives of Ikorodu division in government a serious sleepless night. This was put to test at the Golden Tulip Hotel Festac where the Lagos State Government held its Executive/Legislative Parley on Thursday, 12th of October, 2017.

Hon. Babajimi Benson, MHR, Hon SOB Agunbiade, ML, Prince Rotimi Ogunleye and Hon Adebimpe Akinsola in a separate lobbies demanded for palliative measures on Ikorodu/Odogunyan road. This is because the road is becoming national embarrassment.

Hon SOB Agunbiade, ML, was the first to be sighted by Mr Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Magazine in a deep discussion with the Commissioner for Transport, Mr Elegushi and the MD of LAMATA on the said road. He appealed passionately for the urgent rehabilitation of the road. He also concluded to take the matter to the floor of the House of Assembly in their next seating.

Within a tickle of an eye, Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, in a different discussion engaged the Commissioner for Water Ways and other relevant authorities to find a succour or lasting solution to the Odogunyan road before things get out of hand. He revealed how painful it was for the people of Ikorodu to ply the road and how the sorry state of the road has crippled the economic activities within the axis. This was seconded by Hon Adebimpe Akinsola, who was optimistic that Lagos State Government Will surely do something great on it.

In his response, Commissioner for Water Ways shared the same page with JB and Akinsola and reaffirmed that Prince Rotimi Ogunleye had from time to time been pressurising the government on palliative measures on  the said road.

He said the drainage of the road is capital intensive but assured that Lagos state government will find a way of yielding to the plight and yearning of the people of the division.
