Friday 6th of October, 2017, witnessed the presence of prominent personalities and philanthropists in Ikorodu Constituency II at the Community Town Hall Ijede to deliberate, synergize and get the appropriate feedback across to the people.

The opening prayer was made by the representative of the Chief Imam from Igbogbo, Imam Sheriff Andu. This was immediately followed by the introduction of the guests and speech making titled True Representation and Accountability, by Hon. Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka.

He said the theme was picked on account of the commitment of the Lagos State House of Assembly under the leadership of Rt.Hon. Mudashiru Obasa in ensuring that there is meaningful representation and accountability to the people and also to get people's opinion and suggestions. He went on to mention some of the outcome of previous stakeholders meetings, which include:

- Approval of the construction of Agege Pen Cinema Flyover Bridge soon to commence.

- Construction of Owutu-Isawo and Igbogbo/Igbe/Ijede Roads in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

- Abule Egba Flyover Bridge which has already been commissioned.

He went on to state that these achievements could not have been possible without the cordial and progressive working relationship between the Legislature and Executive arm, the commitment of the All Progressive Congress Party, APC and the cooperation and support of the people.

He briefed the gathering about the ongoing process of amending the 1999 constitution by the National Assembly aimed at reflecting the needs of the people.

However, there were reactions from different corners as Chief Owolabi Olanrewaju from Ibeshe land solicited for street lights on behalf of Ibeshe land. He equally pleaded for the construction of Town Hall in Ibeshe coupled with the rehabilitation of Oke-Ota road.

The dynamic retired banker and lawyer, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun applauded Hon. Sholaja's performance while assuring him of his full support. He did not hesitate to draw the attention of the legislators to Itamaga - Ijede Road, which requires urgent attention. In his final remarks, Basorun urged the Ikorodu Constituency II politicians to be pragmatic and develop positive mindset that will promote the growth and development of the Constituency.

The Olubeshe of Ibeshe stated that Ikorodu Constituency II is fully loaded in terms of responsibility and growth unlike Constituency I. He equally pleaded for erection of fence to protect the only Jakande school in Ibeshe to ensure the security of the wards/students.

MegaXpression Magazine also gathered the contribution of the CDC Chairman of Ijede, Mr Rotimi Owolawi, who implored Governor Ambode to extend the proposed Igbe Road construction to Ijede and Imota community. He affirmed that government representation is not felt at Egbin while pleading for the provision of Sports facilities in Ijede.

In the same vein, Alh. M. K. Sanni from Imota pleaded that restructuring should not affect the newly created Councils. The Chief Imam of Igbogbo who was ably represented by Imam Sheriff Andu, did not hesitate to carefully emphasize the inability of the people to access the low cost Housing scheme. He pleaded for the intervention of LSHA on IKEDC issue as a matter of urgency. Moreover, he urged the lawmakers to ensure adequate attention is given to Igbogbo Stadium and the Youth Centre before they become state embarrassment.

Hon. Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka genuinely did justice to all the questions and agitations of the people. He promised to attend to the plight of the artisans. He further enjoined the Ijede Residents to amicably resolve the kingship Tussel to fast-track the renovation of the Palace. He also assured everyone that their requests and complaints will be duly forwarded to the Governor.
